Ok this is getting to be g3y.
Why are you guys doing things ALREADY DONE?
All it does is make you look like a bunch of pansies because you won't do something original. Chess was done & this module profile and interview were done.
Nice to know that it seems like your trying but it doesn't take much work to do what everyone else has done already.
Reading 10 reviews and you'll get really 4 reviews at most. I mean just take a look at NWN reviews. |

Well, I liked the review and the interview. I don't have time to search all over the net for the ultimate module. I try to keep up with NWVault, but otherwise its sporadic. I say thanks to Bioware for the feature, and I hope to see more.

Great info, BioWare, and thanks...if you guys hadn't posted this story, I wouldn't have even known about the Penultima series (I wasn't aware that there were already some modules of a decent quality out there). |

My intention was not to review anyone's module but profile some of the modules I have personally played and enjoyed. There are a whole mess of modules out there and I can't see them all, but I did want to talk about the ones that I managed to play through that were high quality.
I imagined it would be just an extra bit of info for people who are interested.
The rest of the Live Team are taking a look at some of the modules out there and will be doing something similar with ones that that they enjoy. I just beat them to it. |

You should make note of that then. I mean it seems like your passing it off as a real review and interview, while your really just doing it as a side thing of your favorite modules.
I found the review on NWNVault within a minute or less of the pages loading so anyone who can't find it has gotta be doing something wrong.
How about everyone makes a Top 5/10 Personal Module List and the top 1 gets a review and interview? I mean that seems WAY better than what you are currently doing. |

A big, unimaginative joke? I'm glad that 99% of the comments I've recieved so far have said the opposite, or I'd have to worry...
As for the rest: It's just someone from Bioware saying "This is a mod, check it out." It's not a call for WWIII, okay? Be cool! Play it or don't play it, hey, up to you; 500 mods out there to pick from, after all! (I HIGHLY recommend Spires of Ravenloft; old school, baby.) Share and enjoy and create and share s'more! The more folks putting their heart and soul into their modules, the better.

I have to say that Penultima City Mod 0 is the funniest thing I have seen in a LONG LONG time. I dropped out of my seat laughing.
It was so great. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to be able to play the other modules.

But I thought, this was a call for Nuclear War...someone make that a module...please? I saw the Call of Cthulhu reference, now wouldn't that rock in 3d?
Downloaded the first couple modules and will check them out right now as the NWN community situation is quantity looking for quality.
Kudos on the Bioware props,

I agreed with this guy. I played all the Penultima modules up to #3 and I thought it was well done. I also enjoyed the jokes that were put in. I don't know why people like Akkuma have to get all bent out of shape for no damn reason.

I'm sorry that I am only going to half agree with you on this one scrag - YES, it is a big joke. That's the whole point or parody. So far as your "has no real imagintion" line - I'm sorry, but I think it has (for lack of a better descriptor) buttloads of imagination.
This is one of the funniest sets of modules that I have played. I am just beginning #3 and I love it. It's all good, and worth a laugh, and worth laughing at. Lighten up. And hey, like everyone says, you certainly don't have to play it - if you don't like Stefan's modules, go make a better one and let us all know when it is done. We'll be waiting. |

WOW Stefan, now your mod is compared to Baldurs Gate? Impressive
I really liked your mod. I played it through with a couple of friends of mine, and there is one thing I'm a wee bit concerned about.
I didn't encounter the penguin, or at least I don't remember it, and since things sometimes get a little out of hand (Our paladin is going straight towards Anti-Paladinhood IMHO) your penguin may be ... dead! sorry
Keep up the good work - Looking forward to seeing more from you.

I played Pest Control and I was quite disappointed, cause I heard so many good comments before playing. In the interview on NWvault it was even said, that some people consider it better than the original single player campaign. Well, up to now I can only tell of my experience with Pest Control.
And this module isn't worth to mention. It's just a boring hack'n slay and you are through it in half an hour. IF there is even a story behind all this, then WHY not put a little more hints in it that would motivate you to play the second module of the campaign?
After slaying a bunch of goblins and meeting a "mysterious" girl 2000 gold is all you get. No more story, no nothing. If you wanted to motivate people to play the other Penultima modules too, then where's the cliffhanger?
Such a hack'n slay mod is made in one evening with the toolset.
P.S.:What I saw of the second module was a bit better designed than the first one, but it was scaled too high for my level 8 ranger-character. I could not even hurt those mephits around. But this would belong to another thread... |
