Lord Niah, this is almost as scary as the Shadow Planes I am currently constructing. I especially like Crypt Floors 2 and 3. But the music seems a bit out of place, although that is just my opinion.
I like the red tint in Crypt 3. Its kind of like a place within the Dark Lands on the Shadowplane I have created, but I am currently using a greenish tint instead of red, (I am using red in the hells of course).
It makes me wonder if I should release some of my module or not. I swore to myself that I wouldnt release an unfinished game. But now unfinished modules are getting profiled ? I never thought an unfinished game would ever get profiled !
I currently have 57 areas completed, and just need to finish some details, and the interiors for a couple of Castles, and Citidels.
Well Lord Niah, so far I havent seen anything that even comes close to the surrealism I have created in my game, but this is the closest I have seen thus far, (somewhat). And I still havent found one module created that matches the detail to the areas I have made yet either.
Thanks and keep it up ! I look forward to more modules that pay attention to detail, and are not just thrown together.

So far all that I see here, is an announcment from BioWare, a post I made that talks about Lord Niah's great effort not to slop things together, that also talks about how I am also not slopping things together. And then there is this post made by you, that didnt even have the intelligence to comment on anything constructive at all..
Was it because I said Quote: "Well Lord Niah, so far I havent seen anything that even comes close to the surrealism I have created in my game, but this is the closest I have seen thus far, (somewhat). And I still havent found one module created that matches the detail to the areas I have made yet either."
I said things like (somewhat), due to the fact that Lord Niah's game and mine are surrealistically similar, but not quite.. that would be SOMEWHAT SIMILAR! As for the rest, well, its truth, not selfishness. I am serious when I say I havent seen any other module that has as much detail as mine, and I meant it ! I have just spent over 2 months just creating areas on a 6 hour a day basis buddy ! Can you say the same ? I mean my module is 15 megs, and that is just areas ! The largest areas are only 22 x 22.
I am not here to spare Lord Niah's feelings. I posted here to give him my opinion. Sorry you cant handle it.
EDIT: Listen, everyone who thinks what I said was selfish and stupid, that wasnt my intention at all. I was just talking about how cool Lord Niah's attention to the details of surrealism were. So Lord Niah, please dont take it that way, I was actually complimenting you on that subject. The reason I compared it to my areas, is because your module is the only one I have seen so far that goes into as much surrealism as mine. After reading my post again, I CAN see how one could take it as selfish. As for stupid, I cant see that at all. So apologizes to anyone who took my intentions wrong...

It surprised me too. I guess my mod was complete enough to be playable (at least before version 0.92). Some betas out there are more like alphas. If you release something, make sure it's as close to done as possible. I was mainly looking for some playtesters and feedback about balancing issues when I released it.

You know what, you are absolutely correct. Your module is alot more complete than most I have tried. What I meant is that, as far as I can tell, this is the first BETA module profiled. I used the wrong word when I said unfinished. OK, now I get what Dick meant by stupid ! Sorry, and no hard feelings. I do appreciate your efforts. And can't wait to share my game as well. Thanks again

I'm just on the first crypt level but would like to make a few comments.
- Great work on the sound, lighting, and weather so far. You definately accomplished your goal of making a spooky module. I can only think of 1-2 areas in the Official Campaign that were even remotely spooky and you've already surpassed that. Nice job. - I think a bit more work on the front end would be wonderful. A better "hook" to get the PC into the game might not be that hard to add. Right now the "hook" is pretty much "Go to this crypt." The hook, in my opinion, is what turns a good module into a great adventure. - The abundance of fog zombies is killing my PC! I'm on a P4-1.6Ghz and a GeForce 2 and I was down to about 0.2 FPS and looping sound after the third encounter. This is a problem with NWN, not your mod, but your mod seems to use the one monster that grinds my PC to a halt. Low-end-system users beware. - I'm playing with my favorite character, a 6Rog/6Ftr, and it's not as bad as the readme would suggest. I don't rely too heavily on sneak attacks so I can survive the undead encounters. A pure rogue may have a lot more trouble.
Anyway, cheers for releasing the first REALLY atmospheric module I've played yet! |

I'll take that into consideration. My own PC isn't high end, but I did put in a brand new GeForce 4 Ti4200 just for this game . The fog zombies aren't really integral to the adventure, so they could probably be removed if they're causing people problems. If there were other things slowing the game down for older PC's, I might even consider putting out a second version of the game like Phoenixus did with Tragedy in Tragidor. _________________ The Sunken Cemetery (Remake for NWN2) |

SPOILER WARNING!!!!!
Don't read if you haven't played.
Lord Niah, This is a really nice mod. I love the effects, the puzzles, the atmosphere, and the journal entries and dialog. Those last two are especially immersive!
I found some logic problems though; thing is, I'm not sure if you intended these as "effects" or not, but they were disconcerting. For instance, after having gone through level 2 and emptying it, after going through level 3 and dispatching Alarra, upon returning to level two, one of the rooms suddenly has a throne and a creature with a shard. I managed to pick up four of these shards by the way, but, whereas the journal claims that 7 can be found, the remaining three are unfindable. Three of the crypts in level 2 have no coffins; if they did, I guess I'd find the three remaining shards. The first door on the right on level three is locked and needs a key. I found a "crypt key" in one of the pools on level two but it's obviously not the right one. Going straight forward on level 3 leads me to a gate / door behind which seems to be a bone golem and some skeletons; the door says it, too, needs some sort of magical key but, after going through the entire dungeon yet again, it's a key I can't find.
So: I'm stuck and can't finish! I need 3 more shards, a key to the 1st door on the right on level 3, and a key to the magical door in the back of level 3.
I hope this feedback helps. This has been a terrific mod so far and I hate to have to give up. If you'd rather, we can talk via email so the story doesn't get ruined for people reading this thread, but I'd really like to know how to complete this!

I look forward to hearing from you.

I'm afraid that means you've got beta version 0.92, which is bugged (three perfectly good coffins went missing after v0.91). You won't be able to finish the module.
If you go along to NW vault and download it again, you'll get a later beta version which fixes that bug and adds some other small improvements. The link is:

Just remember, *I* is the most commonly used word in the English language. It's a selfish word.
When referring to another's work, talking about your own in a forum for theirs is an attempt to draw attention to yourself and off them. Create another thread to talk about your work, leave this one alone. |

Version 0.95 is now up. It fixes some weird bugs noted by Saul, Mike, and a few others on the NW Vault. See the included SUNKEN CEMETERY README for details.

Thank you Emaleth for actually talking in a civilized manner about me. I will use the 'I' word more constructively... 'I' Like Lord Niah's module, ('I' really do !). There, now 'I' doesnt sound so bad.
And like I mentioned earlier, I realized too late,(couldnt edit out), that what I said was innapropriate. I am mature enough to admit it though. Too bad the others who talk trash here, arent mature enough to do the same. I am not going to post here anymore. I never would have posted this many times here in the first place, if someone wouldnt have talked the way they did to me. (Lot of 'I's' back there huh ? ). But in all reality, 'I' do like Lord Niah's module... And thats the bottom line. 'I', will leave it at that. Thanks again for being civilized.
EDIT: One more thing before I go, to help people understand how I think. Emaleth, brought up a good point about the 'I' word. But I think a bit different than most. I believe we are all connected together, yet appear seperate. Like within the body, the heart and the liver are seperate, yet live within the same body. So seemingly seperate entities are actually connected. So, to me, the 'I' word is a small part of 'WE'. I really dont think selfishly, as we are all in this community together, and at the same time seperately creating, and playing each others games which connect us to each other a little more. As great module makers, such as Lord Niah,( an 'I') share a part of his creativity with us, (the 'WE'). Thanks for putting up with me Lord Niah, and thanks for sharing your great module with us. I will leave this thread alone now.
