I've gotten all the way to Desther, but now I can't kill him! I tried using the Stone of Recall to go get my mercenary, but it wouldn't let me use it... What do I do? |

To kill Desther you have to whipe out the four creatures that are standing around him. They die quite easily, and then Desther should be no problem. He gives up after you've slapped him around a little. If you can't do this without your henchman, then you'll just have to respawn and remember to save before you try again. Good Luck

I saved after I killed all of his minions (except the ritual guys)... I figured out that you have to kill those in order to get to him, that was obvious. Anyway, I only tried twice, but I figured I'd post anyway... I'll keep trying, wish me luck.
Thanks for the help guys! |

Well, I just tried again, and realized that the reason I kept losing was because my Longsword +1 is an "Innefective Weapon"... What's with that? I tried my Greatsword +1 as well, same thing. Does this matter...?
Someone in this thread or the other thread said he'll give up if you smack him around a bit, but did they mean hurt him or just whack him? |

You have to hurt him. He surrenders when his hp drop below 900, but he starts with 1100 IIRC.
Your weapon is ineffective due to his protective spells. You just have to keep hitting him until they have absorbed their limit, then you'll begin doing damage.
Someone posted that you can break off and run into the adjoining rooms to rest. Haven't tried it, but he does seem stuck to that spot, so you might give that a go.

After you take down all 5 Ritual Zombies, your +1 weapon (or for that matter, your fist) should work fine... if he has a defensive buff up, it might take a while to pound through it, and you will get 'weapon ineffective' messages in the meantime.
You must only bring him down to 'slightly injured' before he surrenders... what a whiner this Desther is! _________________ -Blue Emu

It's actually about the time he goes from slightly injured to injured, but yeah, he's a wimp.

Alright. So take out the zombie things and then smack him until he's "Injured"? Sounds easy enough... I'll try running away to rest, though I do have 4 or 5 Severe Healing Potions and 3 or 4 Minor Healing Potions... I'll keep trying. Thanks for the help guys. |
