First, let me thank all of you who have taken such an interest in NWN Mac for you participation in these forums. It's been very enlightening.
As you are all aware, I've been on pins and needles awaiting the various approvals necessary to get NWN Mac into production-trying to hit a ship date of July 30th. I promised you all that you'd be the first to know when the approval process was over, and I'm happy to report that all approvals have been granted! I've handed off the gold master CDs to duplication and we will begin shipping from our facility on July 30. You should start seeing NWN on store shelves as early as next weekend.
A big thanks to Derek, Darcy, Andrew and all the other folks at BioWare who have put so much effort into getting this done!
Let the games begin.

/me joins in with large sighs of relief
Congrats chaps, you got there in the end
And for once I won't taint this moment with questions, comments, etc ..ohh... whoops.... I think I just did!
In that case I may as well throw in a request that if a certain company in Europe that shares part of their name with Macsoft is involved with getting copies of NWN to us Europeans... that they be shoved in the right direction, and requested not to hold things up in their usual manner.

Great news, really superb. Finally the approvals for the original NWN has been taken care of, now all that remains are the SoU and HotU approvals, go get 'em Al!!

You know, nice as it is to hear this news, and it's great to see Derek's Happy Dance...
What about that "special recognition" for Mac users on the site? Is that getting filed with the rest of the "cool things" we were supposed to get?
Ras goes over and rattles the bit bucket with his foot to see if anything there can be retrieved... _________________ Member of the Open Knights (our new website) consortium (the FAQ. |

Bla bla bla, I hate Al and BW and I'm saying it in a very offensive way, bla bla bla. FOOEY.
I think you're going too far now.
How was MacSoft going to remedy the fact that BioWare hadn't finished the Mac version over a year ago? And what exactly do you expect MacSoft to do about YOU buying the PC version and then only using it for coaster-duty? (at least, that's what you claim) Give you a free mac version, just because you bought a PC version? Not gonna happen. It's even something that's been widely known here ever since the PC version was deemed GM.
Edited because Derek French seemes to have censored QWERTY's post. (quite understandable) _________________ "I have a very firm grasp on reality! I can reach out and strangle it any time!"Edited By WarpMooN on 07/25/03 22:08 |

QwertyMage has been told OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER ... Everyone else on the planet got the clue a LONG time ago that we weren't getting any special deals for buying the Windows version a year ago. This came out right away that if a Mac version came out that it would be total separate and anyone that didn't want their Windows versions to take it back to where they bought it. He just wants his cake and eat it too.
Sorry QwertyMage but I have no pity for you. |

To Al Schilling and everyone that has worked on the Mac version of NWN and put up with all the **** that we've felt and written and cursed about for the last year.
THANK YOU for following through on everything that you could follow through on. This is a sincere thanks and not a sarcastic one.
I lame 100% of the blame on the Toolset on the very specific few short sighted people at BioWare that didn't use cross platform tools and compilers like the main team did. I hope they have been punished and taught what type of tools to use for the future.
But once again. Thank you Al and the rest of MacSoft for bringing us a very beautiful game to our Macs. |

Not bad, really, considering the switchs to both OSX and 3rd edition in the middle of the process... kinda like doing a u-turn on a Los Angeles freeway at 90 m.ph... Not easy, certainly...
Can't wait to play. |

Well, at least a 45 degree turn, since NWN was planned to be a 3rd edition based game from the start. _________________ "I have a very firm grasp on reality! I can reach out and strangle it any time!" |
