A new wallpaper has been released featuring all the icons from Shadows of Undrentide. You can find this new desktop, along with all the others, in the wallpaper gallery.

Usually I really like to see new wallpapers released, but I'm not sure what to think about this one. The NWN logo with a list of icons from SoU !?! The icons are nice, I have to admit that, but I can't see their use in a wallpaper. Are there actually people who are using this wallpaper on their desktop? I would have loved to see a desktop theme with icons and sounds from SoU, but a wallpaper?
Then again, it's a fact that not everything pleases all users, so I guess this one's just not for me. I do hope that there are at least some people who do like this one, though...
Or maybe someone can enlighten me regarding other useful things I can do with this wallpaper? _________________ Don't take life too serious. You won't survive it anyway!Edited By Cheiron the Centaur on 07/31/03 06:52 |

If I'm going to use an image as a wallpaper, I want less icons and texts on it, so as to make it easier to see the difference between the actual icons and the background. This wallpaper idea has to be the most horrible I've ever seen.
I don't even use wallpapers where the name of the game and the developer/publisher and such are stamped on it. Not when I got a wonderful picture of the head and shoulders of a Power Armor Mk II from Fallout 2, with no text or logos!
The golden Neverwinter eye was cool though, and I did use that one on my work computer. Until one of my superiours, who thought it was creepy looking, removed it. _________________ The Darkmoor Guild presents: Armourer: 13 x 8 armour designs, with +1 to +5 versions. and Valthar Keep |

I have these wallpapers in the folder that my screen saver randomly picks from. I don’t use any of them as wallpaper but they’re great as a screen saver.

You never know, though... I've known people where all they had for their desktop was pictures of weapons, armor, and gems from Diablo II. Even I have had one or two desktops where the name of the game has been printed on it, besides where it could be hidden by the bar at the bottom of the screen.
Of course, it depends on the person... one's preference on looks could be another's decision for variation. _________________ Forget the Ancient Red Dragon's head... I want heads of ALL kinds!

I usually hesitate to pick backgrounds with logos and text too, and try to maintain some lack of contrast... however, many of the NWN backgrounds actually work despite of having logos and stuff, I have to admit.
Not sure what to think of this particular pic, though. Not particularly inspiring though... but not the most utterly horrible pic I've ever seen being used on a desktop. _________________ - Weyfour WWWWolf "Thou art a thief and a scoundrel. I'm using this wallpaper as my background right now. I'm at work, but hey, it's new and shiny, how could I possibly resist? |
