Notice the emphasis on Flame Weapon, it seems that spells can now affect items.

Heh, was Circle of Death so lonely that it needed a twin?

And is that flame weapon from a sourcebook? It seems colossally huge. 1d4 WITHOUT the +1/level wouldn't be a bad spell with that huge duration.

honestly, both nwn and sou are awsome, the only two changes i would love to see would be, 1. making the bag of holding a bit more.."holding capable" hold more,
and 2. to be able to acctualy see the cloaks you are using on yoru character.. would be kinda cool..

I would like to see more options related to controlling henchmen and summons.. like eg. scout possibilties follow and dont attack .. stay close if so and perhaps possibility of thinkin to use arrows if enemy is not reachable with melee weapons...

hmm i know there where some more hehe but ive forgotten them.. ill write them up if they strike my mind...

And that dragon prestige sounded cool

looking forward to play with drows

Ok, I understand that you don´t have the resources to make Dragon Disciples in every colour, but plz plz make at leaast one godd dragon and one bad dragon

the GOLD DRAGON DISCIPLE would be an easy choice, because its flame breath is nearly the same. You just have to change the red to gold . Otherwise the silver dragon seems (from the rp-side) to be a good choice.

I don´t want to be a good DD looking like a bad red dragon...

Actually, they could probably go as far to make it a feat like the racial stuff they do... choose your color, then it builds off of it like the ranger. The only problem would have to be with the matching up between damage immunity and breath type.

Playing a Dragon desciple will be downplayed, however, due to the fact that you can't put in flying in this situation. It could be possible, but it would be rather difficult to deal with...

BUT!

It is my hope that if HotU is released with this new prestige class that was added in 3.5, and they make it possible to choose your race, that they also add the whole deal on half-dragon templates:

A half-dragon retains all the special attacks of the base creature and gains a breath weapon based on the dragon variety, usable once per day. A half-dragon’s breath weapon deals 6d8 points of damage. A successful Reflex save (DC 10 + 1/2 half-dragon’s racial HD + half-dragon’s Con modifier) reduces damage by half.

The only difference would be that it would be DC of 10 + class level + Con modifier, not hit die. Seriously, if half-dragons are to be given a choice on race, it should not just be restricted to the gold or red. In fact, if they are only to give gold or red, I say just leave it out!

Feel free to argue. I'll argue right back.

That flame weapon.....can casters wield that or is that meant for a casters melee henchman?? I certianly hope that it is not meant for casters, otherwise I'll expect to see some devastating direct damage spells for melee characters. I hope this doesn't turn into everquest with huge character imbalances.

As for flame weapon I see this: 7 wizard/13 rogue, cast flame weapon. Then use hide to get near opponents, cast true strike and use double kukris. Use improved knockdown. Say enemy is fighter 20, you just get 5 40 AB knockdown attacks(DC 40+1d20 vs his disc 33+1d20) vith 7d6 sneak attacks damage bonus and a a lot of fire damage. Really crazy. I have seen so many wizard rogues lately(usually with scythes) it makes me sick. If you are gonna give wizards low level spells that enhance melee capabilities then you MUST make true strike last one attack only not 9 sec. The possibilities of overpowered combinations of a few levels of wizard and rogue, shadow dancer and others is just staggering. That 9 sec duration instead of one attack made ppl make a whole slew of builds that rely on that spell only. Worst of all are Arcane archers who are like rangers but with +5 to AB and damage and then can cast true strike for even more +20 AB. ABs reach 60. Well fire weapon will just make it worse and give a new rise to one trick pony true striker builds.

As for crumble, compare it to flame strike lvl 4 spell with druid. NONE of the constructs I've seen have fire resistance or high SR or high reflex maki crumble look stupid 15d6 sonic lvl 6 spell as opposed to 15d6 fire divine lvl 4 spell.Flame strike works just fine against all constructs but stone golem which is magic immune and then even crumble doesn't help. Just my 2 cents

First of all, I am glad NWN finally has the Underdark incoperated. You can't get wrong with drows, simple as that

On a more general issue, I support the cloak thing as well, seeing the cloak on your character might be a silly thing to ask for, but for us RPers it is a big thing. Also, if you guys are able to make open helms. I am tired of helms covering my face
Especially a monk, armorless, but running around with an iron head. Looks very silly indeed!

So a couple of cosmetic changes would be in great order.

Finally, you teasers!

I never heard of the red dragon discople before now, and it's like a freaking dream come to life!
But I don't think there gonna be more types cuz why would they name it a Red dragon disciple then?
If I'm wrong, sobe it.

I'd just like to say that I'm very disappointed in the spell system for Mages in NWN in that I can only find one spell-pair that actually works in juxtaposition during combat, i.e. Mind-Fog followed by a Negative Energy Burst. Mind-Fog being a higher-level spell improves the possibility that your opponent/s lose their Will Saving-Throw from a lower spell that is Negative Energy Burst – thereby ensuring the full effect of strength loss, which for a mage assists in reducing the damage from a melee opponent due to the lack of Amour Class. Also it perplexes me to no end why we don’t have any spells that directly affect an opponents Fortitude saving throws. Before SOU, a melee opponent with high fortitude was near impossible to defeat by a Mage, except maybe if you had enough hit-points and allowing yourself to get whacked while using Elemental Shield and healing yourself but this is a very cowardly form of offense albeit Bigby’s level 7 and 9 offer some consolation to my moans. Also, and this is a very important point – the following level 9 spells are absolutely redundant: Weird and Energy Drain. By the time your character has reached enough levels to use these spells, they can only be used to any great effect on much lower level opponents, that are more swiftly dealt-with with evocation spells. Having played a Mage online for many years now, I seldom, if any see these spells being used. I would love to hear from anyone that would be able to suggest another juxtaposition spell-pair for use in combat or any good use for those level 9 spells that I’ve mentioned, but most importantly I hope that the developers at Bio-Ware hear my complaints and give us Mages some decent high level spells that effect fortitude saving throws in the up-coming Hordes of the Underdark.

Sorry to break it to you, but your totally right. Casters spells are just to weak for words. Take the gate spell for instance, but the time you are able to use it, another player is already so powerful that he/she can kill it in 1 hit. same with spells like weird and WOTB. I play on Immersea, I'm level 8(3 wiz and 5 fighter), I have no items, bar +3 armor and tumble helm. And these spells rarely kill me! you would think that these spells need higher anti spell resist ablity.
