Currently the CEP is only provided with English language support. In the next patch we will be moving a lot more of the blueprint names and descriptions into the cep.tlk file. This will set us up well for compatibility with other language versions of the CEP.
However, to provide different language versions we will need help translating the CEP strings (well, more than just needing help, we need somebody to do it for us!)
If you would like to get involved and offer your services, please send an email to eligio@nwncep.com to that effect. Please indicate the language you are willing to translate it into.
One last note: I believe the tlk editor we are using for the CEP does not support Unicode. I'm not sure what NWN does in this department but I cannot promise we will be able to provide support for languages which require Unicode versions. We can always try if people are willing to help. _________________ eligio@nwncep.com CEP Custom Content Guide |

Unicode support is probably a biggie for East Asian languages (Korean, Chinese, Japanese) and probably more than a few others....
Who built the tlk editor? You might be able to re-build to target Win2K or WinXP Pro to see if that fixes things. At least it should blow out the errors for you so you'll know where you need to change WinAPI functions out for the unicode versions.... |

Korean, definitely. I think a couple of wheels from Bioware were in Korea for some event or other last year, or so the news section said....

I would also be happy, if all that placeables had no translated name at all - so default behaviour would provide me with the english name. Unfortunatly around half the placeables in my pallete are displayed with the name "Tisch" (german for table) and can only be identified by open them - bad thing if i think of creating objects "on the fly" in the game as DM. |

I suspect (not having a German version I cannot test this) that the issue lies with the fact that blueprints with a local string typically expect multiple, language-specific substrings. With the first patch we expect to move all blueprint strings to our custom talk table file (this will also greatly simplify translation). Hopefully it will resolve this issue as well. _________________ eligio@nwncep.com CEP Custom Content Guide |

Currently we have translation offers for:
German French Italian Spanish Polish Korean (assuming we can get beyond the potential Unicode issue)
The translation file is now available. Also, I have not heard back on all of the offers - so if you can contribute in one of the above languages (primary translation, quality assurance check, etc.) you may still be able to help. Feel free to contact me.
We are still willing to entertain other languages if you wish to spearhead a translation effort of your own. Just send me an email. _________________ eligio@nwncep.com CEP Custom Content Guide |

I don't know if this will help, but this seems to have added the multiple character set capability of java.
Quote: character encoding used by tlkedit can be set with -Dtlkedit.encoding=<encoding name> command line option ( hint: edit tlkedit.bat ) e.g. "java -Dtlkedit.encoding=cp1251 tlkedit.jar" for a complete list of encodings supported by java 1.4.2 see Click Here

Eligio, I cant email you at your address at cogeco.ca. Do you have another one? They reject all my e-mails, because for some unknown reason, a spam-blocking service named sorbs consider my IP (dynamic, from a widely installed ISP) as a spamer one. |

French and German are very close to being ready to go. They are not released yet though. You will see more when they are up.
The Spanish version is available on NWVault as of about a month ago.
Folks doing the translations into languages other than French, German and Spanish have gone silent on me so I suspect these efforts have fallen off the rails (not surprising when you consider the thousands of lines of text to be translated). Hats off to our Spanish translators who finished the job and the French & German teams who are almost there. _________________ eligio@nwncep.com CEP Custom Content Guide |
