Attention Old Schoolers, you'll find this week's profile about the revival of the Neverwinter Nights hosted by AOL in the '90s a great read and a fun trip down memory lane. We spoke with Snake, project lead designer, to learn more about this great mod of a classic game.

Hail! I'd like to give special thanks to Jay Watamaniuk and his colleagues at BioWare for doing this. These game features are a great way to let players know what sort of things are out there that they may not have discovered for themselves.
If you have any questions about Neverwinter Nights: Resurrection, we have a Game FAQ posted on our Message Board. We also have a Project FAQ on our web site, as well as a Game Info page that has a bit of information on the game areas that are based on the original Neverwinter Nights. More information on the original Neverwinter Nights can be found at the Original NWN History site.

I enjoyed the read. Looks like it is fairly accurate.
Now if I could just get in game and play more often, It would be great. Otherwise I visit the boards and post.
GREAT JOB! |

Hail! There are two means of discovering where players are in the game. One of these is a web page that reports the populations of the various modules that make up the game. The URL for this web page is
. Clicking one of the buttons on this page will generate a report that shows how many players are in the selected module.
Another way of finding out where players are in the game is through use of the Crystal Ball in our login module. When you first log in, you will find yourself in a small room. There is a purple crystal ball located on a pedestal in this room. Clicking on it triggers the display of a list of characters currently playing in each game module.
The GameSpy listing for the game leads to the login server. Because this server is used only to control logins, it is almost always empty. Don't be fooled by the GameSpy listing that says 0/64 players are in NWN_Resurrection! This does not mean nobody is playing the game. GameSpy does not list the game modules themselves, it only lists the login module.

As one of the players from before NWN:R went live, it's fun to read the 'history' I was part of. Having played oNWN for a few years, I really enjoy walking into the game and finding things just where I expect them to be.
Snake and his crew have done a wonderful job of recreating the world we loved. So, if you are an oNWN'r or a new player looking for a new world, come visit.

I must say I agree with Vidyadhara....it is great to be able to go and play and see things right where I expect them to be....and most of my old maps for things such as encounters are still accurate as well!!! Snake and the gang have done a bang-up job on this! |
