lo everyone,
even though i have read the Valsharess romance thread im a bit confused. I just had the conversation where you are obviously given choice to betray the rebels and change sides, or stay with them. Now im Chaotic Evil and according to the different thread its actually impossible to
1. stay with her while having evil alignment 2. you are forced to kill her anyway
Is this true ? If so, whats the point in allying with her, if you are forced to abandon her later anyway ?!? Damn. If would have been SO sweet to go with the Valsharess, destroy the rebels and the seer, and rule the Underdark. Especially considering im using the PRC and playing a lvl 25 Drow Wizard

Meh. You wouldn't rule the Underdark -- she'd try to kill you as soon as you were no longer useful. In drow societies, females rule. The only way you could get what you want is if you had her true name from Cania. I wonder what the "evil" storyline that didn't make it to the final game was... |

Hey, im a most powerful drow wielder of arcane knowledge, even the most powerful foes fall to my finger of death, entire hordes die of the wail of the banshee summoned by me. Surely there would be a way to persuade the Valsharess
Nah, honestly, its a real shame cool potential like that got "cut". |

If you're *really* chaotic evil, you would never ask such a question. Chaotic evil beings act on a whim-- however primal or basic. Intelligent chaotic evil beings act in their own best interests as well, meticulously calculating benefit and detriment, choosing the option that would yield the best possible personal reward.
The former would look at your question and answer it by saying: "Um, this is a no brainer. The rebels stink of goodness and mercy, Their ideals simply do not mesh with mine. Additionally, that Valsheress chick is HAWT, and probably puts out."
The latter would note that the Valsheress happens to have a lord of the nine hells at her side. Thus allying with her gives you access to him *quicker*. The path to power dictates that you go to where the most powerful dwell, and that you do it in the most expedient way possible. As for the rebels, Nathyrra, the Seer, and Valen served their purpose, didn't they. They were useful tools in the beginning and their goals happened to match yours. But now that the Valsheress herself has come to you, who needs rebels? They would have you waste your time on pointless, meaningless endeavors... like "defending Lith Myathar" from "Evil". Uh, no thanks. Perhaps if they had promised to appoint you as RULER of Lith Myathar, such a request would be worth consideration. They didn't, however, so its time to go back to pursuing the most important goal in the world: YOURS. Your path of power.Edited By Yrkoon on 10/01/05 22:29 |

We Sorcerers've got plenty of Charisma too, you know.
And if anyone wants a purely material reason to ally with the Valsharess, I've got to ask: does the Cloak of the Drow become cursed if you don't betray her? I mean, you kill her in the end, but that's Mephistopheles fault, not yours...It would be a bit odd for the cloak to become useless so soon after getting it if you didn't actively try to betray her.Edited By Santoll Mhaa on 10/11/05 14:19 |
