For those who occasionally use an undead companion, I just
realized a neat trick. As a cleric or mage with negative energy
ray, you can stand way off letting your undead companion fight
away, and "heal" it from a distance with a negative energy ray.
Even better, if you have negative energy burst at your disposal,
is to use it to "heal" your companion and damage your enemies
at the same time.

A neat trick to know for those not familiar with negative energy and undead, however the trick does fall flat if your opponent is also undead (liches and vampires come to mind)

AFAIK most negative energy attacks heal their damage rating when used on undead creatures, I don't think their strength is boosted or any other stat for that matter.
