BioWare has many games the web and community team are actively supporting, each at a different stage (some are already released and in your hands, some are currently in development and are nearing completion, and some have few released details). We hope that by changing the format of our web updates, we can better serve the community by maintaining flexibility. What that means to BioWare’s fans is that we are making a change to our web content release schedule in favor of a more flexible schedule for our online updates, and will be discontinuing BioWare Wednesdays. For the latest info on our games and community activities, check news and forum posts regularly, or better yet, sign-up for the BioWare Community Newsletter.
Rest assured that we are continuing BioWare’s active and comprehensive support for our games, encouraging direct dialogue between you and BioWare developers in our various forums, providing news and information on our games, and showcasing projects and content from the community. (Note: If you are aware of something spectacular in the community that deserves recognition, please let us know through the BioWare Bulletin. We are always looking for news on what you talented community folks are up to!) If you are jonesing for content now, try these latest offerings: • Huge new Premium Neverwinter Nights Module: Wyvern Crown of Cormyr (as well as the Neverwinter Nights 1.68 update) • Mass Effect gameplay footage narrated by Producer Casey Hudson • Jade Empire PC screenshots We want your feedback on ways we can create an even larger legion of cosmically-powered fans capable of inhuman feats and to make this community a home base for people who love role-playing games. If you have suggestions for how we can make this community better please post a comment in this discussion. It is your community and we want your ideas!Edited By Jay Watamaniuk on 09/13/06 18:40 |

Oh I know. The change are pretty cool but for a guy who has put about 95% of those Wednesdays together it will be a big change for me as well. |

Even though I realize that the weekly updates put a big pressure on Bioware (coming up with a worthwhile update every week isn't easy, and there's a lot of work involved in it), I have always believed in the Wednesdays concept. It always gave people something to look forward to, and something to come back to. Irregular updates have a much larger tendency to be overlooked, because you don't have that same urge to come back every week to check.
So whatever you folks will come up with instead of the Wednesdays, please make sure it's something that does make people come back on an equally regular basis.
That's all I have to say about this for now. Now, would all of you folks please stop downloading WCoC... the website can't handle the load!!! (read: I WANT TO PLAY!!!) _________________ Don't take life too serious. You won't survive it anyway! |

Just because the BioWare Wednesday program is winding down doesn't mean we're slowing down the release of information or updates. Part of my new position will be to aid the different projects in getting their information out to the community. With projects like Jade Empire for the PC, Mass Effect, Dragon Age and the MMO already announced plus other things still in developement for the future as well as continued support of our already released games there's still lots of information to come.
Stay tuned.

Is the bulletin a new thing? If it's not, I never knew it existed...

Is part of your new position to also answer questions before they are asked?
Yes, I had been about to ask.
So in that case... is anything changing with the newsletter? |

Its really useful getting messages (which always appear a nice bright yellow on the left/right of the page).
The frontpage, on the other hand, is a bit too cluttered, and things go off it either too quickly or too slowly to check often.
I hope you can keep sending regular roundups of these various releases of news, community updates and whatever - unless it is implied you'll do this.
I don't know why you'd not just release anything as and when, but still carry on doing a weekly roundup however! Thats kind odd _________________ Jasperre

I'll miss you Neverwinter/BioWare Wednesdays
Props to Jay and BioWare for keeping them up as long as they have.
Looking forward to the new format and secretly wondering why they made the evil one Community Coordinator. He's a great guy and everything: funny, informative, respectful, well spoken but he's well ... evil.
Next you'll be making Darth Vader a BioWare Global Moderator( Poster: I think this game is vaporware Darth Moderator: I find your lack of faith disturbing. Poster: <chokes and dies> )
Where will it end?

Actually, what I want to know is; who kidnapped Jason Preistly, and replaced him with a non-sarcastic, helpful person?
Just kidding, Jason Congrats on your new position. And Jay, do yourself a favour, give yourself a holiday! You deserve it. Many thanks on all you have done for us.
