Well I had a low FPS problem with my Geforce 8600GT, but I had recently updated my driver and it works fine. You guys should update aswell, because think they fixed the problem. :)
Same thing happened to me. I was experiencing the same FPS no matter what how low I turned the graphics and resolution. A very odd thing I found though... Loading up the premium module "Wyvern Crown of Cormyr" and letting it go through it's introduction movie made the game run smooth. After it finished I could then run any module or save game and the game would run fine.
Recently, though, I downloaded the newest 175.19 drivers and the game runs fine from the start. |

I haven't seen this issue yet in this thread
That's a good sign that you're trying to take this thread off-topic. New problems warrant new threads. It shouldn't be too much of a deviation, but whatever. I'll not argue. |

For those with an 8800 series card and slow framerates, especially around water scenes or scenes with environemental animation, I recommend using Nhancer, a third-party Nvidia profile editing utility.
It gives you finer control over the Nvidia profile options for your games. I found that using Nhancer to force NWN to only use a single core for OpenGL improved my framerate to playable levels.
If you are finding that the default Nvidia control panel profile editor doesn't seem to have an affect on your framerate when forcing NWN to run on a single core try Nhancer to do the same thing. Nhancer, for me anyway, has been more reliable at changing the options I want to change when compared with the Nvidia control panel.

Hi guys. I reinstalled NWN/SOU/HOTU some time ago and I remember going into so PW servers thinking I was getting lag from server issues and my relocation to the EU.
A few days ago I started up the original single player campaign for nostalgia and realised I'm getting a barely playabe frame rate. I have an Nvidia 9800GTX with latest driver. I read some pages on this thread, turned off shiny water and looked for 'threading optimization' in Nvidia control panel but it doesn't seem to be listed.
