100 Nights of NeverwinterOn June 18th, 2002, Neverwinter Nights was released and began to appear at retail outlets. Anticipation about the game had been building throughout its five year development. Five years is also 1826 days. Fast forward through those years, add 100 days, and you come to, September 26th, 2002 – 100 Neverwinter Nights later. Dups (one of our Webmasters and a database wizard extraordinaire!) was first to notice the significance. He mentioned it in a meeting a week ago, and Pandora was out of the box. In one short week, a celebration of sorts was put together, including gifts! The concept: Recognize and reward leading members of the incredibly active Neverwinter Nights community. Not an easy task, but it looks like we’ve managed to do just that! With the help of leading hardware manufacturers and our publishing partner, we’re able to recognize and thank the people who are leaders of the Neverwinter Nights community. Over a five-day period, the Neverwinter Nights community site profiled leading members of the community. These leaders were selected several weeks prior to the announcement of the 100 Nights of Neverwinter celebration. The selections were agreed upon by members of the BioWare Live Team and members of BioWare staff active in the community. These people are leaders in their own right, be it as a conduit to the fan community, as a resource for other fans, as a calm and understanding community moderator, as a technical expert in a particular area, or simply as a very friendly supporter of everything Neverwinter…these people are the cream of the community. And selecting these leaders was quite the challenge, as there are so many incredibly talented and creative people within this very special community of Neverwinter Nights fans. It’s our privilege to be able to work with them, in the community, every single day. Without further ado, here’s today’s Neverwinter Nights community leaders: Day 5 - Stefan Gagne (Module Designer)Today’s profiled Neverwinter Nights community leader is Stefan Gagne, the creator of the popular and critically-acclaimed Penultima series of modules. Day 1 - Maximus (Neverwinter Vault)Today’s profiled Neverwinter Nights community leader will be no surprise to many members of our community: Maximus. His tireless efforts creating one of the leading Neverwinter Nights community sites made his selection as the first community leader to be profiled in this event fairly easy.
