Community Expansion Pack - Now In Spanish

Cep in SpanishThe Community Expansion Pack is now available in Spanish and includes Spanish versions of all the CEP items, creatures, clothing, and placeable names and descriptions. As a special bonus, it also includes updated crafting scripts in Spanish.

Visit the NWVault to download the Spanish CEP translation now.

The CEP Spanish translation was crafted by Deor, Fingalad & Drairon, the three DMs/Builders of a small (but expanding) Spanish RP-oriented, story-based persistent world named "Mundo Walen" ("Walen World").

In The Words Of The Translation Team

"As soon as CEP was released and we had the chance to test it we decided it was a must-have for our module - basically because of its amazing quality, our lack of knowledge about building hakpaks, and, especially, CEP's intention to become a standard for the NWN community... adding to BioWare's already-released NWN game features!"

The first step after we made this decision was wishing to have the CEP in our own language, which led us to contact the CEP Team directly. They provided us with the source and tools that we needed to carry out this translation (our thanks, indeed) and here it is. This way, the whole Spanish NWN community can more easily enjoy this superb initiative, we thought.

Cep in SpanishThe process has been long (nearly two months to translate more than 6,800 lines of text - which MUST keep their coherence) and we've struggled with some difficult issues. For example, we had to collect information about "official" AD&D 2nd edition creature name translations (published more than 15 years ago) and D&D 3rd edition ones (that had not yet been translated!). Ah! And it was curious to search for the Spanish names of the CEP siege machines - which meant diving into medieval texts to get the correct latin-rooted names!

But the work is done. We hope our translation is useful to somehow extend both CEP and NWN experiences for all Spanish speaking players. We hope we will meet in "Mundo Walen" or any CEP-compatible world, too!"

Installation

The translation is easy to install: simply download and place the new cep.tlk file into the tlk/ folder of your NWN game installation. The file is available on NWVault in the CEP section.

If you are interested in helping to translate the CEP into other languages, please visit the CEP translation forum.
