How to Direct Connect by IP Address

If people on your Buddy List or Guild Member lists are playing the game online, you can view the IP Address of the server they are playing on. (example of an IP address: "24.151.1.55:5121")

You can join the server they are on (providing there is room, and you know any required passwords) by Direct Connecting to the IP Address of the server they are on.

Step 1. Get the IP Address

The IP address will appear if they are online. You can either write it down, or highlight it with your mouse cursor, and copy it to the clipboard by selecting 'right-click' -> 'Copy'. (see below image)

Step 2. Start a Multiplayer Session

Start the game and choose 'Multiplayer'.

Enter your Player name and password (you can use your community site name and password) when prompted, or create one from within the game. Click 'OK' to proceed.

Select 'Join Internet Game'.

Step 3. Direct Connect

Once you are in the server browser area, click 'Direct Connect'.

You can now enter the IP address of the server you want to connect to. If you have copied an IP address to the clipboard before starting the game, you can now paste it into the 'Server IP Address' field by pressing 'Ctrl+V' on your keyboard. If this does not work, you can simply type in the IP address.

Click 'OK' to connect. If the server is available, your multiplayer game will begin!
