What sort of vision is your organization pursuing? What do you hope to achieve, and what are your goals?
Our vision is to include every type of plane and world contained within the Forgotten Realms of D&D.
The goal is to provide a venue for creative staffers to build a unique collection of worlds for the RP members to enjoy.
Can you tell us about the participating worlds and how you all came to be a part of this?
EA is a world divided into two continents: Legend of Valinor and Novus Terrarum.
Each continent has its own staff and server independent plot lines. However, we share the same code base, so the feel is the same. Some notable features of EA include:
- Our NWNX2 spawn system. Internally developed, this allows our staff to change the spawn from inside the game, allowing for a dynamically changing world.
- Use of the Hard Core Rules. We use some, but not all, of the features of the HCR to bring the PnP feel back to NWN.
- Avlis Crafting system. This is, in our opinion, the best crafting system out there for NWN PWs. We are also working with CoPaP to develop methods of transferring crafting skill from one world to another. Not only will the items you craft in Avlis (or other participating CoPaP world) be crafted the same way in EA, but also the skill used to make those items will move with your character allowing for a seamless feel.
- Area grid system. Areas in EA are 16x16 and connected in such a way that makes it possible to follow a stream, tree line, or road from area to area, or to go around something you think might be waiting for you in the next area.
Can you tell me about your player community?
All linked worlds have some of the total players within our community. The players are of every type you will find on a PW and some that you will only find on our worlds. A very creative member of our community, Red Golem, developed the Autobic set of tools that lets a player roll unique characters that are not found on other PWs.
Are all the participating worlds in your organization exactly the same as far as features and game play? If not, what are some differences?
CoPaP worlds are unique and created based on the vision of that world's team. Each world has a rich history that is constantly changing as the players interact within the world. The CoPaP history is constantly changing as the worlds interact with each other through cross server DM run quests and the influence of adventuresome players who constantly seek new worlds to explore. A unique feature of CoPaP is that a DM run quest brings into being a new portal each time a new world joins the linked worlds. Each world works with a second and sometimes third world to develop a cross server story that melds the servers' histories in new and interesting ways.
Differences can be small, and unless you are ever watchful, you will not find that special ingredient for the item you most dearly want to craft. Many times the difference is large and very easy to spot. The world may use a unique tile set of their creation that you will never see anywhere else.
Are there any plans to expand your project?
CoPaP is conceived to be an ongoing, always-expanding multiverse. Our only limitation is the will and skills of the collective staffs of the member worlds.
What kinds of worlds are you looking for to join your organization?
Any and all worlds that embrace DnD 3rd Edition themes and are devoted to Role Playing are welcome to apply.
