The Confederation of Planes & Planets: Linked Worlds Profile by Jay Watamaniuk The World of HalaWorld Leader: Drakuul What are the names and websites of the independent worlds involved in your organization right now?I currently am world leader of Hala, which is a huge floating rock in the Plane of Ysgard - a plane of eternal battles, epic deeds, and not a small amount of intrigue. Click here to view our forums website. Can you tell us about the participating worlds and how you all came to be a part of this?Well, I started out as a player about 15 months ago on Avlis after a friend lent me a copy of NWN. I was invited to become a DM of Hala about 6 months ago, and last month I took over the running of Hala. I've played in most of the worlds in CoPaP, and I look forward to visiting the other ones. There's always something new, and always fresh atmospheres to enjoy - from the depths of the Abyss to Celestia and primes galore. I really have no words to describe it apart from... "It's great... come see it for yourself." What sort of vision is your organization pursuing? What do you hope to achieve, and what are your goals?CoPaP is... well... we aim to be the broadest range of documented and undocumented worlds and planes that we can do. From only Avlis on three servers when I joined the community, to Avlis on 6 servers and a whole host of other servers linked to Avlis or to each other, the vision in my mind is to span the various universes of D&D fiction and sourcebooks to allow a full and accurate rendition of the D&D universes to the best of our abilities. Can you tell me about your player community? We have some excellent roleplayers who really make Hala a joy to DM: Celestial army members, demon cultist members, and the blood war lurking in the background really makes the players feel like they are in an outer plane and not a prime - and they RP that extraordinarily. We have a good mix of plane travelers and resident Ysgarders, so there's always fresh faces to meet. Are all the participating worlds in your organization exactly the same as far as features and game play? If not, what are some differences? The amount of customized scripts in each world is staggering - modified spells, new tilesets - every world in COPAP is different, and you won't know how different until you've tried each one. Most use the same tilesets, but the feel of each is so different. Hala, for instance, uses the Mirador Superset tileset and has converted the summons spells to summon giants, since elementals cannot be summoned on Ysgard... Can you tell me about how your organization is run and how you coordinate all these servers?I have a great team composed of scripters, area builders, and DMs. We chat on IRC and co-ordinate changes on the forums so we have a hardcopy to refer to. Thankfully, I only have to run one server - that's quite enough for me.
