The Player Resource Consortium Update! Profile by Jay Watamaniuk
Where can I find out more about the PRC?http://nwnprc.netgamers.co.uk/ Is there a manual that explains how to install the PRC?http://nwnprc.netgamers.co.uk/manual/index.html Can you give us a little background on how the PRC got started?
Soon after that version, hennessy shane sent his 'PnP' shifter and the Lich template to Stratovarius (using SetAppearence function) for inclusion into the PRC. After that, things started to roll, we got CVS setup, we got websites, we got forums, we got lots of e-mails, and we had a product we can all be proud of. It seems so long ago... Now we are pretty big, with 15 or so members and 40 released classes, and constantly absorbing more content and more people. What is the current state of the PRC? Any new versions coming out?The current version of the Player Resource Consortium's PRC pack is version 2.2c, with all the members working on 2.3 (no release date has been set yet). In 2.3, you can expect at least 15+ new classes and prestige classes, such as the Geomancer and Diabolist, Psionics, spellbooks (i.e. spellcasting ability) for some prestige classes such as BioWare's Assassin and the PRC's Soldier of Light, and many new feats, such as Twin Power and Chain Power, which are Metapsionic feats. 2.3 will also be adding almost 180 new player races, which would bring a total of nearly 230 races for even more character diversity. What is the current organization of the PRC?The PRC Team consists of 8 members currently, with a horde of volunteers who have contributed or are contributing to make the PRC even better than it already is. Many things have contributed to our success, such as lack of competition in the beginning, help from outside scripters to get us started (Mr. Bumpkin and NamelessOne of CODI), masses of volunteer help from outside, the fact we had Archmage, PnP Shifter, and Lich among the very first classes made, the sheer number of options, ease of installation and the ability to retrofit itself onto any existing module without much difficulty, constant updates and bugfixes, lively forum, and accessibility of the members to anyone who can post in the forum.Any hints on what's ahead for the PRC?Lets just say things like: more spells, more classes, more races, continued support and patches, AI (eventually, maybe), more psionics, and boneshanks ISC and ESS (if/when gets finished). ~
