1.01: Is this a whole new game? (Back to Top)
No. This is a Neverwinter Nights adventure that has a new and exciting storyline, dynamic characters and new features but it is not an entirely new game or a full expansion pack.
1.02: Do I need the original Neverwinter Nights game to run this adventure? (Back to Top)
Yes, you must have Neverwinter Nights and the Hordes of the Underdark expansion pack installed to play this adventure.
1.03: Can I use my own character to play this adventure? (Back to Top)
Yes, but it is strongly recommended that your character be close to 3rd level when starting to play the adventure because that is the level it was created for.
1.04: Can I take my own items to play this adventure? (Back to Top)
You will be stripped of all items upon starting this adventure. To make sure you do not lose any of your items you are advised to save a copy of your character as a separate local vault file before you begin this adventure.
Follow these instructions:
Open your Neverwinter Nights folder and locate the "localvault" folder.
If the character is not already listed drag the file from its current location into the localvault folder.
To make a copy simply click and hold the right mouse button and move your file to an empty location in that folder.
Release the button.
You will be given a choice of "Copy here" or "Create Shortcut".
Select "Copy here".
A new file will be created. Now you can safely use your character in the new adventure. If you wish to use your original character simply use the new character file you created instead of the original.

The Lite version of Neverwinter Nights: Kingmaker features the same great adventure as the regular version, but voice-over, a number of load-screens, the Stormy skybox, and an end-credits movie have been removed. Neverwinter Nights: Kingmaker Lite has been provided as an alternative purchase--at a slightly reduced price--for those without high-speed internet connections.
