1.1 Update Changelog

The following updates are included in Neverwinter Nights: Kingmaker version 1.1.

  • The Masked Man's minions now die when he does so they don't disrupt the subsequent cutscene.
  • Additional safety checks have been added to all cut-scene conversations, preventing them from breaking due to nearby combat, area transitioning, being in another conversation, casting a spell and so forth. Alias, the Magic Weapon, and the Psionic Gems are all affected by this change.
  • Tweaked the faction of Becket's assassins so you can't lead them over to kill the beggars, etc. They now care only about the player and the guards.
  • Alias has been given her own faction that is neutral to all things.
  • The Dirge spell has been changed in this module so that it only affects creatures, not doors and placeables, as this was breaking the Bastion of the Enemy area.
  • Changes were made to Alias' conversation to ensure that it was no longer wrongfully setting various plot state variables (including the infamous bug where Aunt Serah wouldn't acknowledge the completion of the Goblin quest).
  • After their surrender, the two former henchmen you fight in the Bastion of the Enemy area are no longer flagged as unharmable. This prevents an unwinnable combat if the player chooses to force a second attack.
  • Removed an infinite XP loop that occurred if you repeatedly promised Thaddeus that you would kill Gelani.
  • Removed a handful of infinite XP loops in the Feran / Ellysia / Becket love triangle.
  • A fear effect is now applied to any wandering monsters that get too close to Alias in the Emerald Hills area. This prevents them from clumping around her while the player is away and also prevents her conversation from aborting due to random combat.
  • The soundset files have been changed in the hakpak so that they use actual strings rather than stringrefs.
  • The demo movie that is installed with the Kingmaker module now displays the proper Forgotten Realms logo.
  • The fog clipping distance was too close in the Graveyard and the Emerald Hills and has now been pushed back.
  • The module description now properly lists the module's starting level as 1.
  • Fixed an instance of Jaboli saying one of Kaidala's inter-party banter lines.
  • The Magic Weapon now encourages you to gather equipment from the battlefield before proceeding into the Keep.
  • The module now exports your character properly at module's end.
  • Support for the Appraise skill was added to all stores.
  • Replaced the stormy skybox with a new version that plays nicer with the NWPatch 1.65 fog settings.
  • The prison is now locked once the player wins the election, preventing the player from wrongfully pursuing that quest.
  • Becket's overheard conversation in the Haunted House's secret passage will no longer fire once the player wins the election.
  • Dylan's conversation in the prison no longer gets stuck in a repeating loop.
  • The player can now initiate the election themselves by talking to Lamplighter in the Guild Hall.
  • Various typos fixed.
  • Made some changes to the appointing of your Hand and Banner after the election. You now have a greater range of people to choose from and you can request a reminder regarding the nature of each position.
  • Corrected some wrongful creature & placeable descriptions.
  • Fixed various aspects of the Stan's Cow Quest. The cows will no longer get stuck on top of the walls, all animals will respond better to a trail of grain, and better use is made of feedback text and journal entries.
  • Gelani now has her own faction, preventing some potential chaos in the tavern when you assassinate her.
  • The Manticore and the Duerger Mage now leave lootable corpses rather than body bags, making their plot object easier to find.
  • Trip now disappears properly if he betrays you before facing the Masked Man.
  • Removed an instance of one of Sharwyn's VO files being attached to Kaidala's henchman conversation.
  • Tweaked the end battle to scale according to difficulty level and added some text feedback from the Masked Man if you focus your attention on his minions rather than on him.
  • The Slaad disease ability was interfering with some save games. Removed the ability and made it a battle with two Slaads, neither of whom summon reinforcements or rely on disease.
  • Henchmen teleportation within the Duergar cave is now more reliable.
  • The Player is now properly stripped of gold upon dying outside the city gates.
  • Goblin Wizards now have the proper soundset.
  • The mirror puzzle in the final dungeon no longer targets doors once they've been opened.
  • Decreased the chances of the player getting stuck in the mirror when placing or moving it as part of the final dungeon's mirror puzzle.
  • Tweaked the player's positioning in the cutscene where the player meets their grandfather, preventing some potentially bad camera angles.
  • All effects are removed from the player and associates prior to the final cutscenes.
  • Alias no longer refers to potentially erroneous plot states when offering to take you to past locations.
  • Prevented the player from spawning in multiple versions of Typhus through Thaddeus' dialog.
  • The Elf twins in the Battlefield area now have posts to prevent them from getting seperated.
  • Prevented an Infinite XP loop involving a talkative Goblin in the Manticore Caves.
  • Removed place holder text from the dialog involving Calibast as the Players 'Hand' and Enivid as the 'Banner'.
