An Interview with Rick Burton

NWN - The Stink On Trogs
[Sep 15 2004] Devilish creatures of heartless evil, Troglodytes delight in feasting on their defeated enemies and thus carry a variety of exotic mustards and other condiments at all times. Although cunning and fierce in battle, when the Troglodyte is angry or frightened they secrete an oily musk-like substance similar to what you smell at gaming conventions and LAN parties. [Mai 05 2004] Fresh meat! The Dragon Kin is a combination of epic wizard and formidable, shape-shifting druid. Epic enemies might not fear a regular dragon, but they will fear the Dragon Kin! Those who attack our second epic PC offering will learn the full meaning of futility as their blows bounce off his incredibly hard form. Those who stick around afterwards will learn what the afterlife holds in store for them, as the Dwarven Wall will neatly separate their head from their shoulders with devastating blows.

The Community Expansion Project Is A Hit!
[Apr 21 2004] The wildly successful CEP has been downloaded a stunning 142,871 times since its release March 24. The community has embraced the custom content package with open arms, no doubt because of the huge amount of free, high quality content it contains. [Jul 16 2003] I would expect that if you forgot an anniversary with this woman you would be in for far more than a few days of simmering silence followed by years of guilt. The Female Fire Giant would set your favorite building on fire and eat your car. Fire Giants are far more civil than their frosty cousins and yet are far more calculated and malicious in a behavior very similar to second graders.

[Jul 16 2003] The hands-down squirrel-screechingly, craziest cousin of the giant family, Frost Giants are wildly unpredictable and fantastically dangerous. Somewhat weaker than their fiery cousins they still have the ability to squash cow-sized objects into special sauce if provoked. Rest assured that provoking them into a rage is about as hard as not finding an anvil that floats.

Pit Fiend
[Jun 18 2003] While girls may be sugar and spice and everything nice, Pit Fiends are bloated and vile with boat loads of bile. One of 19 new creatures (3 of which were previously available online) added in Shadows of Undrentide, the Pit Fiend will also be available to all NWN owners in the upcoming 1.30 patch.

Arcane Archer
[Jun 11 2003] Master of the elven warbands, the arcane archer is a warrior skilled in using magic to supplement their combat prowess. One of five new Prestige Classes added in Shadows of Undrentide, arcane archers have a repertoire of magical arrow attacks, including the Arrow of Death. Additionally, 2 new Shadows of Undrentide screenshots have been posted!

Hobgoblin
[Jun 04 2003] Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide will include 19 new creatures, (3 of which were previously available online), and this week the creature we feature is the Hobgoblin! The rowdy distant cousins to the highly underwhelming goblins are known for tipping cows over and performing amusing practical jokes like eating peasants.

[Feb 26 2003] The Shadows of Undrentide expansion will include over a dozen new creatures, including ant-like monsters called Formians. Ants so big that they don’t ruin a picnic by stealing tuna crumbs and getting squished under your bare feet, the Formians instead ruin a picnic by burning down your village and selling you into slavery after eating your mom.

Feats are nice and all but, as a spell caster, I need to instill mind-melting terror in my enemies so bring on the darn spells! This week we feature a fine selection of spells that range from making Clerics an angry bit of business to girding Fido for fighting the onslaught of evil that surely awaits you in the next dark dungeon.
